A note from Marleen, before you begin reading.  When Christ healed the ten lepers only one came back to give thanks and express appreciation.  Sadly enough, for us human helpers the ratio is more like one out of forty seven people that come back to express gratitude (or indignation) for the help we gave. 

However, it is interesting to observe that those who paid $20 for this service have been far more inclined to register surprise -- or outrage.  My banker has said: "Marleen, there must be a moral in there somewhere."

These Letters have been copied and pasted.  Even when they spell MY name wrong, all spelling and other errors are left intact because, as Andrew Jackson was fond of saying, "It is the sign of a feeble mind to only know one spelling for a word."

I was unable to make connection the first time I tried, but a couple of days later I was able to talk with an agent and gjot my questions answered. Dear Folks, Thank you so much for the information concerning my insurance company.  The first number was the one that worked.  The representative I spoke with was knowledgable of the company, & emphasized that I had a good policy.  They even had the policy info in their computer database.  That was surprising to me since the policy was paid up nearly 40 years ago.  I have your website bookmarked & will let others know how much you helped my Mother & me. BAB.

This is a comment from Marleen.. Because of two, three, and once even eight companies using the same name, I'm not always that successful.  I floundered through five companies the request should have been, and a chance remark from one of the customer service operators finally led us down the primrose path of success.

Your service is like a light house in a storm. I can not tell you the amount of time spent with no results trying to track down life insurance companies my father had policies with and still paying, but no longer exists under the same name.

Marleen K., sorry to bother you again. I e-mailed you about my friend's cancer policy company and you found it for us. She tried using the 800 number, but keeps getting a recording saying "push add or word extension number and then push pound". We don't understand that! Do you know of any way to get around that. Hi Shirley:  Isn't that awful? When I run into things like that I want to pass a law against anyone being able to buy insurance from a company until after they have tried to get through the phone lines to file a claim.
Remembering that I am not a lawyer, or an insurance agent, and that my advice is worth slightly less than two cents, here is what I suggest..
#1, write a letter.
#2, since this is a toll free phone number, after you mail your letter have ten of your friends try to get through to the right department. Once any of them does get through, have them say they are doing this for you, and what is the sequence to get through to them again so you can follow up.
Of course, if you are one of those rich people with a hundred friends willing to work simultaneously -- you may have more chance.

Department of insurance says they don't know what companty the policy is with.  It's definetly not j**,they say your a scam,,and should return my money back right away.  They told me to file a fraud charge on your part. With the FTC,Consumers help.  They say people like you don't help anybody, you steal money from them.  These are their words not mine.  G Dipierro

Thank you so much for your help. I called the company and was able to resolve the question concerning the pollicy. Unfortunately, the policy had lapsed but at least I resolved the matter. She also instructed me I would get a form in the mail, I need to fill that out - send it in. And it would take approximately 2 weeks for me to receive the check. She has no family to help her file this claim and can't find her policy. She knows once a yr she writes a check and who that is to. That is it. I am a small insurance broker self employed and mostly sell insurance for AFLAC. So I told her I would hunt for info to help her and file the claim for her. Thanks loads Marleen K.. My mom passed away Sunday morning and we are trying to get all of daddy's papers updated. Keep us in your prayers, this has been such a sad and lonely time for us. My mom was the center of our family. I stayed on the phone most of the day yesterday trying to track down old life insurance companies. The policies were written in the 70's and have changed hands a few times. This was my last piece of the puzzle.
